What Customers Say About Cuisinart PRC-12 Classic 12-Cup Stainless-Steel Percolator:

Then began my quest of trying to deal with Cuisinart over what I thought must a defect. Alas, not this one. My coffee brewing preference has always been a percolator. I did this - and, as others have said, had to include 10 dollars for the return shipping cost.

and most of all, I love how the coffee is always steaming hot. I will add my name to the rest of those who are disappointed with this coffee percolator. Their customer service department did not respond to my phone calls or email, so I finally had to contact them by mail. not hot. I bought it to replace my old Sears Kenmore - which was a true gem.

Finally, I received a phone call advising me to return the pot as the coffee is meant to stay hot. I don't use this percolator any more, having found an old Kenmore on eBay which is by far superior. I love the sound of them percolating, they generally produce a good cup of java. Cuisinart sent it back to me approximately 6 weeks later - poorly packaged, and with a one-line note stating that it had been tested and confirmed that the coffee stayed WARM after percolating. Like others have said, the coffee produced was generally weak although the percolating time was relatively quick.

My biggest disappointment, however, was that after 10 minutes or so, the coffee in the pot went from hot to almost lukewarm. "Warm" is operative word here. I am extremely disappointed with Cuisinart because of this very inadequate product, but moreover because of the deplorable customer service.

I have ground the coffee coarse and fine and it makes no real difference in terms of making consistently good coffee. I have always loved percolator coffee and my kids gave me one of these for my birthday. You should use a coarser grind in a percolator, but if you do in this one, it comes out like water. It looks great but it is nearly impossible to make a consistent pot of coffee. Most of the time it comes out weak, even though I use lots of coffee. The only way I have made good coffee is to grind it like a drip maker and fill to 12 cups and use LOTS of coffee. Unfortunately, I need to make 6-8 cups at a time and not 12.Overall, I am not a happy camper.I'm going back to the drawing board.G in Georgia

I don't understand the critics This is the best coffee ever, percolated not dripped, and tastes great. I use with Melitta or Tim Hortons coffee and it's better than any starbucks or Tim's. The best coffee comes from my cuisinart and I've had mine for 5 years.

Now, I'm just not in the mood. We are both sitting here in shock and sadness.

The coffee was always hot and delicious. I give this 2 stars because every single day for the past 3 months, we have adored our Cuisinart percolater.

We researched this product for a while before purchasing it and now we are coffeeless. Moments ago, we awoke on a beautiful Saturday morning, plugged in our precious pet, and it wouldn't turn on.We took great pains cleaning this machine DAILY, removing the hardware after brewing to prevent the break down of materials. We gently scrubbed each part inside and out- DAILY.

Just like the reviewers before me, no loose plugs, no bad connections, just not turning on when plugged in. No coffee. And I was gonna make french toast.

I am just so shocked. My husband just annouced he is depressed now.Damn you Cuisinart. We are coffeeless.

So far this pot has made excellent coffee, it is quite and fast, unlike the GE's. Purchased this pot to replace my third GE pot all three of which lasted about six months before they gave up. (My husband said the GE sounded like mortar rounds going off in the mornings). (Unfortunately, I never saved my box or receipt. Never will I do that again). Once your drink perked coffee, it hard to return to the drip pots. The coffee is richer and stays fresh longer.
